It makes sense when the tumbler will replace one you already carry. For lighter luggage and fewer drinking annoyances, the smaller AeroPress Go is the clearer choice.
Go Plus scales the travel idea around a proper insulated tumbler rather than a compact plastic mug. The chamber, plunger, filter cap, stirrer, scoop and paper filters pack inside, and the brewer retains the approachable AeroPress recipe: add grounds and hot water, stir, press, eject the puck and rinse. For a road trip, camper or desk where the tumbler stays useful all day, the arrangement can be more coherent than carrying a brewer and vessel separately.
The lid is the reason this otherwise polished kit remains a near-miss. AeroPress itself advises closing the magnetic slider gently to reduce splashing, and independent testers and owners repeatedly describe awkward sipping or poor confidence in the closure. The complete kit is also substantially bulkier than the original Go. Coffee quality and cleanup remain strengths, but the Plus asks travelers to accept a compromised drinking vessel in exchange for capacity and insulation.

Official directions and independent tests consistently describe puck ejection and quick rinsing as a central convenience.
